Finished Product

Jeff has developed an interest in woodworking the past few years. His Grandpa Elchert liked to woodwork and after he passed away, Jeff decided that he wanted to do it too. He has made a potty chair, like his grandpa used to make for the grandkids, for our godson Tyler and a few other small pieces. For Carlos, he decided he wanted to make a glider. He did an awesome job on it and I know his Grandpa Elchert would be proud!!

Great weekend

This weekend, my mom and sister came to visit Jeff, Carlos and me. We had a great time! Saturday, we went shopping and Sunday we took my mom out for Mother's Day brunch. My mom and sister got to feel Carlos play soccer in my belly :). Before my sister arrived, my mom painted Carlos' room and it looks awesome! The only thing missing was my dad, but I'll see him soon at the shower! Jeff also started working on a rocker for Carlos. It is going to look great and is going to be something that will stay in the family for a long time. I can't wait to see the finished product! Here are some pics from the weekend!

My Belly Moves!

This weekend, my friend Kate and I were getting our toes done and as I sat in the chair, my belly did a little dance. I was so excited that Jeff could finally have a chance to feel her! I waited all day Sunday feeling my stomach and making Jeff feel it and nothing! Then, Sunday night bedtime, she decided to play a soccer game in my belly! Jeff felt her move and kick for probably 10 minutes. She is getting bigger!!!!

Half way there!

Last week and this weekend turned out to be a great time and great news!

When I went to my original ultra sound, my doctor thought the amniotic fluid had some particles that aren't usually there. So, she sent me to the high risk doctor who said that Carlos is doing just fine. The particles are blood cells from a hemorrhage that I had, but it shouldn't be an issue from here on out. I just have to get another ultrasound in a few months. He also said that she is not small and there was no reason to move my due date, so it's back to the August 24th! It was such a huge sigh of relief knowing she was okay and seeing her again. This time, she played with her toes the entire time.

We also went and bought a crib and dresser for her room. It turned out to be quite the event. The guy at the store said, "oh, that should fit in your car with no problem!" Those words were bad luck, because the crib didn't fit. The store couldn't deliver on a specific time on weekdays and they didn't have an opening on a Saturday until May 1st, which is when I will be traveling to my friend Lindsey's bridal shower. So, after receiving the good news about Carlos, I wanted the crib! Jeff was still at work, so I took it upon myself to rent a 14 foot U-hall. I was a little nervous to drive it since the seat didn't move up far enough for me, but I just used my tip-toes and made it there and back in one piece!

This weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting my friend, Jeanice, for her baby shower in Chicago. It was great seeing her and my other college roommates Megan and Lindsey! Megan's daughter Elliot was our entertainment for the weekend, and did a great job! I couldn't have asked for a better time!

Jeff's mom sent this cheerleader outfit for Carlos. I'm sure she will be the Buckeye's number one baby fan!

Introducing "Carlos"

Last week we were able to see baby Carlos for the first time. We found out that Carlos is a girl!!! She was quite the busy little thing in my belly while we were trying to see her. She did an entire flip while we watched and then played with her little hands the rest of the time. The ultrasound tech. said that her foot is 21mm long :) The Dr. also said that she is a little small so they moved my due date back a week to September 1st. I think she is just little so am still counting down to August 24th!

After going to the doctor, Jeff and I drove to O'Fallon for Easter with his family. It was great to see his family and relax! It had been a long time since we saw all of his siblings together. We weren't there for very long, but it was well worth the trip!

Spring Break

Mom and Dad got us a changing table for Carlos.

Jeff and Dad got some extra help from Sloopy to put it together.

My parents came to visit over spring break. This was the first time we have seen them since announcing baby Carlos' existence. It was great to see them and I was pretty sad when they left. We went to the world war one museum. I believe Jeff and Dad liked it, but mom an I were not so impressed. I thought I found a dead guy on a bench in the museum. Seriously I coughed three times and he didn't flinch! But, he ended up waking up right before the place closed, yeah that was my fondest memory :) Mom, Dad and I started our registry while Jeff was at school on Saturday. It was helpful to have some people who actually know what is necessary for a baby to help me out. Jeff and I still have to go back after we find out the sex to register for a few more things. Over all, it was a great spring break (minus the weather)! Next week is the big day...BOY OR GIRL??????

I am in this picture trying to make the best of the moment :) It's a little like a "where's waldo" picture!
Mom was here too, but she took all of the pictures. We should have should have gotten her in here! Jeff and Dad were being babies and were too cold to wait in line to go up some tower. I wanted to go, so mom and I waited while Jeff and Dad went inside.
